Basement flooding fixed and new drain tile to be installed
Over the years when the Flint area has had a huge rain storm the basement of Zeta Theta would flood. This became a major inconvenience during this past term (April, May, June). Flint had 5 major rain storms in one month which lead to the drains in the floors to back flow into the basement. With the help of the town of Flushing, a local plumber and Brother Tony Kraatz ('04) were able to locate the rough location of the path and direction the drain tile runs out of the house. Tony called in an excavating company to dig up behind the Addition, locate and un-clog the drain and trench the hill to run new drain tile. The basement has not flooded for the past month and we do not expect any more flooding in the future.

The new drain tile will run down the hill behind the Addition into a pit that is 6` feep and filled with gravel. The drain tile will be 40 Schedule PVC and covered in gravel to prevent breaking in the future. |
